Function and Performance Requirements of Vacuum Pump Oil for Oil Filter
The pump oil of oil seal rotary vacuum pump of oil filter is mainly used for lubrication of vacuum pump. The Lyboa vacuum pump oil must meet the relevant requirements. As a moving medium, vacuum oil filter pump oil plays the following important roles in vacuum pumps:
1. Sealing - prevents air from entering the exhaust valve. There are clearance seals between relative moving parts (rotor and stator, rotor blade and rotor slot, etc.).
2. Lubrication - relative lubrication between moving parts to reduce wear.
3. Cooling - oil circulates between the pump and the tank to dissipate heat and cool down.
4. Encapsulation - Encapsulation of dust or other particles produced by wear into oil to reduce wear damage.
5. Protection - Formation of protective oil film to prevent water and chemical vapor condensate from corroding the internal parts of the pump.
Performance requirements of Lyboa vacuum pump oil for vacuum oil filter:
1. At high temperature, the saturated vapor pressure should be lower and the volatile components should be less.
2. Minimum water content and water absorption.
3. Have a certain viscosity, and change little with temperature (the curve of temperature rise of viscosity is smooth).
4. Good lubrication and cracking resistance under mechanical stress.
5. Anti-corrosion, anti-oxidation and chemical stability.
For most applications, Leybonol brand standard mineral base oil, oil brand LVO 1XX, is used in Lybonol vacuum pump. It has suitable chemical and thermal stability, hydrolysis resistance and good compatibility with sealing materials.
For some special applications, some weaknesses of standard oil products are as follows:
1. The stability at high temperature is poor.
2. The inertia of chemical reactions (acid, alkali and halogen) is poor.
3. The inertia of oxygen is poor when it comes to strong oxidant.
4. The solubility of non-polar substances (wax, grease) is poor.
5. The solubility of polar substances (oligomers, resins, decomposition products, especially crystals) and polymers is poor.
Therefore, in special applications, some special lubricants suitable for pumps can be used as working fluids, or additives can be added to the pump oil to enhance performance in some aspects. However, it should be noted that additives may make the vacuum performance of pump oil less than expected, such as poor vacuum, and even react with the exhaust gas. Therefore, the use of unproved oils may result in frequent oil exchange, reduced vacuum performance, precipitation of oil reaction, and even damage to pumps.
